Here are three "molecular biology cursors" I put together that I thought you all might like. All are free for anyone to use, and you can even modify them. I DO NOT want these used to support anything commercial, so if you're going to do that, CHECK WITH ME FIRST. These can be placed on the info-mac cd rom, however.
I'm really fond of these, and I spent a lot of time on them. All I ask is that you send me some feedback: either e-mail me at bpharmon@miavx1.acs.muhio.edu or by snail mail at

DNA cursor:
the program "Virex" has a DNA cursor that it displays while scanning your disk. The only problem is that DNA doesn't have that kind of symmetry -- it doesn't look like that. I won't go into details, but to have that perfect bilateral symmetry the distances between base pairs would have to vary by a great deal (which they don't irl).
So, I made a cursor that looks more "chemically correct" with major and minor grooves, etc. It's not a textbook representation, but I like it.
Bacteriophage Cursor
The little phage attacks a bacterium, produces progeny and lyses the cell. Then it all starts over again with one phage.
Mitosis Cursor
Chromosomes condense and migrate, the cells divide and the chromosomes then unpack. Then it all starts over.
